Now Hiring: Cyber Security Headlines Reporter (Contract)

About the Opportunity

Cyber Security Headlines is looking to expand our team with a talented cybersecurity reporter. Our daily six-minute news show has become a trusted resource for security professionals who need concise, accurate reporting on the most critical developments in the industry. This is a contract position.

Who We’re Looking For

We need someone with proven reporting experience in cybersecurity and/or IT and a broadcast-quality voice to join our production team. The ideal candidate combines industry knowledge with audio production skills to deliver compelling, informative content to our audience.

Required Qualifications:

  • Established experience in reporting cybersecurity and/or IT
  • Professional, engaging radio voice
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to distill complex topics into clear, concise summaries
  • Reliable with consistent attention to detail and deadlines

NOTE: One of our reporters didn’t have all these qualifications when we hired him. So, we’re open to candidates who want to prove themselves with a sample. See “How to Apply” section at the bottom.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the cybersecurity industry
  • Previous audio production experience
  • Familiarity with recording and editing techniques
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Audition

Key Responsibilities

As a Cyber Security Headlines reporter, you’ll be responsible for producing at least one complete episode per week, including:

  • Researching and identifying the eight most significant cybersecurity stories for that day
  • Writing concise, brief summaries of each story
  • Recording professional-quality voiceovers
  • Editing audio using Adobe Audition (our production is fully Adobe-based)
  • Exporting and uploading the final audio to our podcast feed
  • Creating and publishing the accompanying blog post

Position Details

This is an ongoing contract position with flexible scheduling. You’ll be responsible for producing one complete episode per week, making it an excellent opportunity for experienced professionals looking to supplement their existing work.

  3. Record yourself reading both stories as a reporter.
