1: Join us virtually every week on Super Cyber Friday

Every available Friday at 1:00 PM ET/10:00 AM PT, we host a live virtual discussion (half on video, half in a chatroom) on one topic in cybersecurity. We invite two hosts to lead the discussion.

WHAT YOU CAN DO: Go to our show page to register for the next event, or for the entire series. You’ll see information at the top of the page on how to do either. In addition, at the end of the show, we have a post-show meetup where everyone can appear on screen and continue the conversation.

2: Join us virtually every week on Department of KNOW

Every Friday at 4:00 PM ET/1:00 PM PT, we host a 30-minute live show on YouTube and LinkedIn, where we invite two experts to explain what the past week’s news means for your security program next week.

WHAT YOU CAN DO: Participate in the live discussion on YouTube. Subscribe to the CISO Series YouTube page and click the bell icon to make sure you get alerts for the next episode. Participate live in our chatroom, as we incorporate some of the discussion into the show.

3: Submit “What’s Worse?!” scenarios

This risk-based game pits our two CISOs against each other to determine “What’s Worse?!”

WHAT YOU CAN DO: Send us two (or three) awful scenarios (fictional or real) a CISO could face. Each option should appear equally terrible. Submit via our contact page.

4: Live in or near San Diego? Come join our meetups!

CISO Series also produces the San Diego Cyber Group, a twice-a-month meetup for cybersecurity professionals and those studying cyber. We meet in two locations every month: once in San Diego, in Mission Valley, and once in North County San Diego, in Vista.

WHAT YOU CAN DO: Join the San Diego Cyber Group and come to one or all of our meetups. If you register for any of our events, you’re added to our mailing list, and you’ll get alerts about all of our future events. We’re also always looking for volunteers to help us run the event.

If you’re interested in sponsoring, please contact us.

5: Attend any of our live events

We travel and host live recordings of CISO Series Podcast, run workshops at SKOs, and host game shows.

WHAT YOU CAN DO: Come to one of our events. Just check out our events page and see what’s coming up, or what’s going to be close to you. You’ll also notice an option in the upper right-hand corner to “Subscribe to calendar.”

6: Get involved in our monthly AMAs on Reddit’s r/cybersecurity

We host a regular Ask Me Anything (AMA) on Reddit’s r/cybersecurity subreddit. They traditionally happen the last week of every month and last for the entire week. CISO Series selects the topic and assembles the experts ready to respond to your questions.

WHAT YOU CAN DO: Participate in the AMA by asking questions (or even answering). Or, suggest a topic for an upcoming AMA. Submit via our contact page.

Check out past CISO Series AMAs on r/cybersecurity.

7: Participate in or start a discussion

For our shows, CISO Series Podcast and Defense in Depth, we rely on popular discussions on LinkedIn as topics for segments on both shows.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:

1: If any of the CISO Series co-hosts post something that asks for feedback for an upcoming episode, please participate.

2: If you get a conversation going on a hot topic or you see another hot topic that you find interesting, please share it with us. We can turn that topic into a segment or an entire episode. In all cases, if we use your material, we give you full credit. Submit your LinkedIn conversation via our contact page.

8: Take the “Cyber Feud” survey

WHAT YOU CAN DO: Take the survey or share the survey with your friends.

9: Give us a pitch for “What Do You Think of This pitch?”

Our CISOs will critique any vendor pitch you send us.

WHAT YOU CAN DO: Send us a short pitch and be prepared for praise or some constructive criticism. Don’t worry, our guests are not mean. But if they don’t like your pitch, they’ll give you some advice on how to fix it. We’ll need to quote you and your company. Submit via our contact page.

10: Tell us “What Is It and Why Do I Care?”

This is a game where we anonymously pit three competitors against each other and ask our CISO guests to let us know which explanation and pitch they like the best. If our CISOs like your pitch, we’ll mention your name and company. If they don’t, we won’t mention you at all.

WHAT YOU CAN DO: Go to this form and submit your entry for your best explanation of your category and what makes your company unique. We’ll match companies in similar categories, and then our host David Spark will read the explanations (“What is it?”) and the differentiators (“Why do I care?”) to the CISOs all without revealing the names of the companies or the people who sent in the submissions. If the CISOs pick either response as their favorite, our host will reveal the names of the winners, but not the losers.

11: Record a question for our show

WHAT YOU CAN DO: If you have a question for the shows, why not record it?

Whenever you submit, please let us know your name and company, and whether you’d like us to credit you. By submitting here, you agree that we may use your submission for any of these promotional opportunities and any derivative works that we may generate in the future.

12: Follow us on social media

We’re available all over the web.

WHAT YOU CAN DO: Follow the CISO Series where we’re very active: LinkedIn, YouTube, and YouTube Shorts. We’re less active on X, Reddit, Instagram, and TikTok. You can also follow our founder, David Spark, on LinkedIn.

13: Want to be on a show?

We’re extremely fortunate that there’s high demand to be on our programming and to publish to our site.If you’re a vendor (or security consultant/vCISO) interested in appearing on a show or publishing on our site, please see our sponsorship section.

WHAT YOU CAN DO: If you’re a security leader who’s not working for a vendor or acting as a consultant, please contact us with a link to a video or audio recording of a past appearance.

14: Give us feedback

We appreciate all the incredibly nice things you’ve said over the years. We are super fortunate that we have lots of fans who let us know how much they love our programming. And they are also not shy about letting us know when we screw up.

WHAT YOU CAN DO: Please feel free to give us feedback, positive and negative. We can take constructive criticism as well. Email us at feedback@ciso-dev.davidspark.dcgws.com, or feel free to send us an audio or video response.
