CISO Series is a media company that delivers the most fun in cybersecurity. We focus primarily on cybersecurity leadership, challenging security issues, hiring, getting a job in cyber, and working with security vendors. We engage all levels in cyber, aiming to be the couples therapist for vendors and practitioners.
Description:
CISO Series is seeking a full-time Writer/Producer with excellent production and written skills to join our team and create engaging and informative content for our listeners. The ideal candidate must have a deep understanding of cybersecurity, strong attention to detail, and the ability to adhere to our brand. They should be a self-starter, collaborative, professional, and timely. The job is virtual so location can be anywhere (US citizens only).
MUST HAVE Qualifications and Skills:
Seriously, if you don’t have these qualifications, please don’t bother applying.
- Deep understanding of cybersecurity. Do not need to be a practitioner (our founder isn’t), but you must know the field.
- Strong writing and journalism skills in cybersecurity. Three years experience minimum.
- Understand the CISO Series brand, and can write to its style.
Key Responsibilities:
- Writing articles, newsletters, and blog posts related to cybersecurity
- Writing summaries of episodes for newsletters.
- Selecting topics and sourcing material for podcast episodes
- Preparing episode rundowns and outlines
- Writing episode titles and descriptions
- Assist in development of new and current shows
- Collaborating with the team to develop content ideas and strategies
- Editing and proofreading other written materials
- Coordinating with guests or interviewees for podcast episodes
- Managing deadlines and ensuring timely delivery of content
Other responsibilities may include:
- Hosting live shows and podcasts
- Conducting interviews with cybersecurity professionals
- Researching and reporting on news in the cybersecurity industry
- Other duties as assigned
Highly desired skills
- Strong research skills and ability to verify information
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including conducting interviews
- Ability to create and adhere to SEO best practices
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications, or related field, and/or minimum of 4-5 years of experience in content creation, podcast production, or similar roles.
- Familiarity in Adobe Creative Suite of audio/video recording and image editing.
- Ability to collaborate with a team and adapt to changing workflows and processes
- Time management and organizational skills
- Comfortable working under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to multitask, including across our various programming.
NICE TO HAVE Qualifications and Skills (If you don’t have it we can teach you):
- Familiarity with the Google Workspace apps
- Experience with project management software
- Familiarity with WordPress
