Three years ago today I took a chance on launching a new podcast in the middle of the pandemic while all the other CISO Series shows were losing audience. That’s because many of you listeners consumed our podcast during your morning commute. I stopped having a morning commute as well and my podcast listening suffered as well. (BTW, we eventually regained that audience back and a lot more.)
At that time what I realized wasn’t in the cyberpodcastsphere (yes, I made that up) was a short form podcast (6-7 minutes) that would just give you the absolute best daily news in cybersecurity.
Cyber Security Headlines has become our biggest success. It is consistently in the top ten for Apple Podcast’s Tech News (US) every single week. That’s astonishing for a podcast that is a niche of tech news.
Plus, this show is our most popular show on the CISO Series network. And we keep hearing from CISOs who listen to the show that at least once every week, a story on our show comes up in their daily meetings. We’re so thrilled to have had such an impact.
In this video I chat with all three of the reporters of Cyber Security Headlines (Steve Prentice (@StevenPrentice), Sean Kelly (@CyberSean2K), Rich Stroffolino (@MrAnthropology)) and I ask them what has changed most drastically over the past three years. It’s a really great conversation. Give it a watch.
